You don't know what it is that's the point. Bronchitis is not the only thing that can cause chest pain. There is also pneumonia or walking pneumonia. You have to be so careful when it comes to colds and chest pain. It could also be that you had sinusitis and everything is now in draining in your chest. Go to the Dr. and get an xray to see what the cause of the cough and pain is. Okay at least you will feel some kind of relief knowing what it is. Good luck and take care of you.

coughing and chest pains...not enough info, but considering the time of year, i can venture a guess that you have bronchitis, which in turn has become costochrondritis (inflammation of intercostal cartilage) which can be brought on by the strain of constant coughing, and you probably have an irritated larynx too. Pleuritis is a possibility, but its usually associated with pneumonia. i would go get checked out, if i were you...you may need antibiotics, and probably an anti-inflammatory like motrin.

Has anybody considered nerve root pain or pinched nerve? Possibly upper thoracic or lower cervical. I presume you have had a cardiac ultrasound and proximal aortic dissection has been ruled out. You have never had shingles or herpes zoster so post herpetic neuralgia is unlikely. If you have a normal electrocardiogram during chest pain coronary artery spasm is also very unlikely.

Maybe you have bronchitis and the pain is from the coughing.
You can check symptoms at webmd.com.
Hope you feel better soon.
