Yes, I am a vegertarian and i take b12 dots everyday. I also make sure I eat a lot of NON-animal protein like nuts, beans and tofu. Some doctors may tell you that being a vegetarian is an un-healthy diet but that is only if you are doing it wrong! If you make sure to take vitamins, eat lots of vegetables and healthy grains and lots of other proteins, you are a hell of a lot healthier than those people eating big macs for breakfast!!! Also below are some websites for fake-meat products that are really good!

If you eat eggs and/or dairy products, no you don't need extra B12. If you're a vegan, fake meats often have B12 added. Or take a pill. B12 is the only thing you won't find in plant products.

As for protein and iron, eat legumes and nuts.

I haven't eaten meat or fish for 10 years now and I'm very fit and healthy. I eat plenty of veg every day (not much fruit as I prefer savoury things to sweet stuff). I try and eat a mixture of carbs and protein in each meal such as salad with a bit of cheese (goat's or cottage), quorn, pulses such as beans in a chilli, and nuts on my muesli every morning. I take a multivitamin with calcium and iron every morning and I'm fine, rarely get illnesses and look young for my age (so I'm told!!!). B12 is ok but multivits are best.

I remember a funny tale: guy: i'm a vegetarian...except for hen or fish. woman: i'm a non-smoker... except for cigarettes. heavily, nonetheless, i does not quite call it something, because that's not quite a philosophy (i'm certain you do not trust that creatures with 4 legs are extra deserving of existence than their opposite numbers with 2 legs), extra only a call for hen.

If you have a well balanced diet, you shouldn't need vitamin suppliments. Protien can come from beans and soy products if that's what you are looking for.

Most breakfast cereal is fortified with it. If you eat eggs and dairy, it's in them as well.
