It affects the bronchial tubes, and respiratory system. You can also lose your voice big time, specially if the doctor prescribes antibiotics, which are not recommended if you have chronic bronchitis. I know, because my partner was given a prescription for antibiotics for his bronchitis. He not only lost his voice he blacked out due to a bad reaction to the drug, and wound up in hospital, where the doctor confirmed that antibiotics did not have any affect on bronchitis, and should not be taken.

Bronchitis is either an acute or chronic inflammation of the mucous membranes of the tracheobronchial tree. The "tree" includes the trachea, the mainstem bronchus (just below the trachea), the primary left and right bronchi (which split off left and right into the lungs), the smaller bronchial branches, the bronchioles and the alveoli. The interstitial tissue of the lungs is not directly involved.
