Get tested. It's fast, simple, and virtually painless.

By drawing some blood from you they can determine if you have herpes simplex virus 1 (typically cold sores) or herpes simplex virus 2 (typically genital herpes).

Also, if you have some sores, and are concerned they might be herpes sores, they can swab the sores and test those too.

Early symptoms can include a burning sensation in the genitals, low back pain, pain when urinating, and flu-like symptoms. A short while later, small red bumps may appear around the genitals or on the mouth; later these bumps become painful blisters which then crust over, form a scab, and heal.

Good luck!

Here are the symptoms:
Most people with genital herpes have no symptoms or have very mild symptoms that go unnoticed or are not recognized as being a sign of infection. The most common symptom is a cluster of blistery sores — usually on the vagina, vulva, cervix, penis, buttocks, or anus. Symptoms may last several weeks and go away. They may return in weeks, months, or years.

The first episode of symptoms of a genital herpes infection is also called "initial herpes." The symptoms of first episodes are usually more severe than later outbreaks.

Symptoms may include

* blisters
* burning feelings if urine flows over sores
* inability to urinate if severe swelling of sores blocks the urethra
* itching
* open sores
* pain in the infected area

Severe first episodes may have symptoms that include

* swollen, tender lymph glands in the groin, throat, and under the arms
* fever
* chills
* headache
* general run-down feelings
* achy, flu-like feelings

But to know for sure...go to the DOC!! You need to go anyway to get some anti-virals if you do have it, so you need to go either way!!!

Most people infected with HSV-2 are not aware of their infection. However, if signs and symptoms occur during the first outbreak, they can be quite pronounced. The first outbreak usually occurs within two weeks after the virus is transmitted, and the sores typically heal within two to four weeks. Other signs and symptoms during the primary episode may include a second crop of sores, and flu-like symptoms, including fever and swollen glands. However, most individuals with HSV-2 infection may never have sores, or they may have very mild signs that they do not even notice or that they mistake for insect bites or another skin condition.

Most people diagnosed with a first episode of genital herpes can expect to have several (typically four or five) outbreaks (symptomatic recurrences) within a year. Over time these recurrences usually decrease in frequency

(I looked it up on the internet) Hope it helps.

There are different kinds of herpes, but if you think that you have them, you need to seek help...herpes cannot be cured, but treated. You need to see a doc.
I hope that you don't have them!
