Anything with a scent can send my son and I into coughing fits.

We have wood and tile floors throughout the house.

PS My husband can't stand the smell of vinegar.

I have bad asthma also and cannot use anything with Lysol, bleach or chemicals with irritants in it.

Frankly, use the most non irritating cleaner of all, steam.

Unless your husband is allergic to vinegar, then it doesn't matter if he doesn't like the smell. He needs to learn to deal with it. Your main concern is the health of your child.

If your child has no reaction to vinegar, then this is your best natural method. Mixing water and vinegar with a bit of ammonia will clean thoroughly on wood, tiles, ceramic and many surfaces. Use just a bit of ammonia. If the smell is too much for your son, then just omit it and stick with vinegar.

i have BAD asthma and im sensitive to most cleaners too. i have been able to use lysol and lysol wipes without a problem. i use the allergy reducing febreze too and that seems to help a lot. for cleaning floors i can use the wet swiffer mop pads. i think anything that isnt too harsh (like bleach or ammonia those are bad for asthma) is ok.

Have you tried Mrs. Meyers "Clean Day"...You can get it at Whole Foods Market...made with essential oils and it's all natural.

Have you tried eliminating dairy from his diet? I suffered my

whole life with asthma until I stopped consuming dairy and

started taking small doses of natural ephedrine...this is the

one I use:

Also...explore this website:

I'm very healthy now and there was a time when I could barely

get up a flight of stairs without losing my breath....the

toxins in dairy are a direct link to breathing problems...also

a lack of sunlight and dependency on meds only makes matters

worse.

I wish you the BEST !!!!!!!

Two words: Air purifier! It gets rid of the smell much faster, so your husband won't have to deal with vinegar smells.
