dont listen the first comment. Texas, ironically, is one of the only states whos having trouble accepting it because they feel it will 'encourage' premaritial sex-when it really has nothing to do with that!

it is complelty safe, having little or no side effects.

i had to do research on it for my PIG class for an article, and it is totally safe.

you get 3 shots over 6 months..it is the only vaccine out there that helps prevent HPV..human papaloma virus which is the leading cause of cervical cancer. you still have to use protection druing intercourse though

but think of breast cancer..if there was a way to protect yourself from that ...a vaccine..wouldnt oyou get it??

i dont want to make your mind up for you.

they are giving some crap about how they feel it encourages premaritial sex.

but the fact is we live in a day and age where teens are gonna do what they are gonna do, regardless of whether this vaccine is mandatory or not. (which they are thinking of offering it and not making it optional in some places).

i was already offered it at my gynocologist and am 90% sure i am going to get it.

plus..its NOT a form of birth control..so why would it encourage premaritial sex?

people are also saying by making it mandatory gardasil is just trynig to make money. although they are trying to make money, they are really trying to prevent cancer..thats the whole reason they made the vaccine

hope i helped

I am a firm believer that it should be made mandatory in every state. I have HPV and It turned to cancer i am 24 years old and no I longer have the chance to have any more children, I had to have a hysterectomy because it turned cancerous. I for one will take my daughter in to get the shot when she is old enough to get it. This vaccine will save lives that otherwise would perish Or not be able to have kids. The thing that i find funny is that these morons who object to making the vaccine mandatory are not even putting up a fight against vaccines like hep B And C which are spread by body fluids. They mindlessly subject there children to those shots why not allow a shot that will protect there daughters from CANCER? let them think about that. Also they could ask the DR not to tell the girl what the shot is for that way mommy and daddy can stay blind to the fact that one day there little girl is going to have SEX that is just the way things work.

I believe it is safer than getting HPV which can lead to cervical cancer. The only we to deal with a virus is to immunize It is high time that the health community focus on women's health issues. Thank gioodness for that. So Bravo to the Governer who is mandating it.

I sure wouldn't let one of my kids take it. I live in TX and they are trying to make it mandatory that all kids have to take. I don't think so!!!
