First, RELAX, yeast has NOTHING to do with HIV, seriously. Anyone who would tell you that is ignorant. People with HIV get different kinds of yeast infections in the mouth, etc. Because they have compromised immune systems. Maybe that's where this stupid rumor began... Vaginal Yeast is a simple infection. Yes, you and your Bf may be passing it back and forth. More likely, you wear a thong, tight jeans, the area stays too moist and you are just prone to yeast. Try cotton panties to keep the area dry, skirts or dresses, clean up after sex ( both of you, showers together are fun and sexy!) or at least wipe each other with scented wipes. It's a kindness and actually feels very tender and caring when you do it together. Try body powder on the outsides of your labia and inner thighs to keep things dry. Eat less sugar. Eat 2 yogurts every day with whole fruit in it like Yoplait. You're going to be great. Have an amazing life and be happy, k?

Absolutely not.

If HIV is a concern, please get tested. It's free and anonymous. If you are scared about people recognizing you or running into someone you know, go to a neighboring city. It's better to be safe than sorry,PLUS it will put your mind at ease.

When I was younger, I frequently had yeast infections and bladder infections. Just see your doctor and have it taken care of. Also, if the infection wasn't dx, then see your doctor for an exam. It could be something other than a yeast infection, if you were recently treated without a dx and it came right back.

Good luck. And please, for your sanity, get tested. It's simple, non-invasive and free. It only takes a little of your time and eases your mind.

It is true that multiple yeast infections are a symptom of HIV, but I wouldn't press the panic button just yet. Get yourself treated for the yeast infection and have an open and honest discussion about your sexual practices with your doctor.

If you are at risk, get tested for stds and when you get the all clear, celebrate by always practicing safe sex in the future. Having more than one episode of a yeast infection is not in itself a definitive diagnosis of HIV.

Now, go get the test so you can stop being scared. Good luck.

NO! Yeast infections are NOT an indicator. Get this book called The V book, it will tell you whats going on with your body. There are no studies that prove any connections. I have battled an overgrowth of yeast in my system from using an inhaler for years, there are a lot of things that can contribute to the yeast. I wish the vaginal creams would be forced to take that panic inducing mis-information out of there pamphlets.

If you are concerned get tested.
