What's involved in the test? Is it bad? I'm long overdue to get checked out and I'd like to know what to expect before I head off to the doctor.
Also, do I need to go to a gynecologist or just a normal GP?

A pap smear...I think you can go to a GP or a gynecologist for that, but my preference is a gynecologist because they specialize in female anatomy, diseases and such. An HIV test requires a blood test.

First, I know that you have not been going to the DR. but you need to go to your OBGYN once a year, pep smear every 3 months if you have mulitple partners, AIDS test every 6 months no matter what. Good Luck.

All that will be required is a blood test and a gynecological exam. Wise to maintain once annually. Talk to your doctor get to know him or her, be honest, so they know best how to help you.

Good Luck
