If you are not sick with some sort of respiratory problem (cold, chest congestion, etc.) and this reading was taken at rest, then an O2 saturation of 90% is definitely something to worry about. I am 53 and terminally ill with pulmonary fibrosis. I was diagnosed by accident. When I was diagnosed, my O2 sats were 93%. You need to get to a pulmonary specialist as soon as possible to see what (if anything) is wrong. Your O2 sats will drop with exercise, but your at rest should be above 95%. Don't let people tell you 90% is fine - it isn't. Again, if this is an at rest reading, get to your doctor. Good Luck.

Do you mean 90% oxygen saturation? If so I would say that isn't the best for your age. I would expect it to be higher. I work in a nursing home as an LPN and if anyone is below 90 we usually put some oxygen on them via nasal cannula. Are you a smoker? or ex-smoker? If so that might explain it. Do you have a respiratory infection? Is that your resting saturation or was it measured when you had just exercised? I guess I would be slightly concerned. Do you feel out of breath or short of breath? If not then you are probably okay. I don't mean to worry you.

90 as an 02 saturation, got my oxygen delivery started.
88 is where medicare starts paying for 02
I am another decade older, ex heavy smoker my 02 sat runs about 94 to 95 My Dr's, a non smoker, was 97
90 is minimum for airline flights
Just for some relative #'s
He would feel better if the 02 was higher

Is that your oxygen saturation? Is it the number on the machine attached with a clip to your finger?
90% isn't great, 95-100% is optimal.

Do you mean oygen saturation or something else. If you mean oxygen saturation then that is a little lower that it should be for someone with no repsiratotry problems. If you mean something else then I am not sure.

It's not bad.
Where did you get that number? Did that reading come from an O2 monitor?
Again, it's not too bad.

90 is not bad. I wouldn't worry unless it gets any lower.
