no its not the smoking. if you do or not make sure your not picking your nose. there are sensitive blood vesels in the nasal cavaty and they can rupture from anything from change in humidity to getting flicked in the nose just once. if you have stuff building up in your nose try only blowing it out in the shower. and also don't blow to hard blowing your nose too hard can cause nose bleeds. good luck

Maybe the air is just really dry. Blow your nose too much maybe.

It could be dry heat in the house. During winter months the house is dry if you have forced air heat. I would see a doctor (ENT) just in case.
