No, a lot of candy isnt helful. You should eat complex carbs at every meal. For a really good guide to a healthy diet look at the GI Diet. It will give you sustained blood glucose levels rather than the highs and dips you get from eating candy.

When blood sugar levels are low, the goal is to get them back up quickly.

1. eat, drink, or take something that contains sugar that can get into the blood quickly. Your should consume really sugary foods or drinks, like regular soda, orange juice, cake frosting, glucose tablets, or glucose gel (a tube of sugary gel)

2. wait about 10 minutes to let the sugar work

3. recheck their blood sugar levels with a blood glucose meter to see if the levels are back to normal

Sometimes, blood sugar levels can get very low and you might not feel well enough or be awake enough to eat or drink something sugary. When this happens, kids need to get a glucagon shot. Glucagon is a hormone that helps get your blood
sugar level back to normal very quickly.

if you eat candy bar it will help too

I know with some diabetics, they say that if the sugar is too low to get some candy, but I think it's better to eat some fruit or drink some juice if possible.

"huggz" answer is right on! Stay away from the sweets. They will crash your blood glucose level right after it shoots up high and make you feel worse.
You have hypoglycemia, according to what your MD said. It is usually a long-term condition, but if you know you have it, you can easily manage it. How? REGULAR every 2-4 hour snacks (between meals) of dense proteins like cheese and dairy products, nuts and peanut butter. Don't eat too many starches. Stay away from foods which are white in color to be safe.
If you are proactive about this, you will be fine.

hi
you should not eat to much candy as it can raise your sugar levels to high however you can check your blood sugar on a sugar machine and carry sugar tablets to take 1 if you get light headed or dizzy

that means that you will have to consume something sweet to bring it up. Usually you can eat a banana, or some glucose tablets to bring it up as well.. anything as long as you don't over it as it will get your sugars way up higher.

Your doctor will give you guidelines on what you should and shouldn't eat.
