Take a steamy shower. The steam may help.
Suck on a cough drop. I find the slow lozenge fills in the time until the regular cough syrup kicks in.
Take one sleeping pill. Once you're asleep you will stop.
If you can't sleep, sit up in the recliner. This helps your sinuses drain better. You're less apt to cough. Try having some air circulating, like a slow ceiling fan.
Black licorice is also good at coating the throat.

drink lots of water n eat more fresh fruits.a proper exercise is also important.ur throat is dry that makes u itchy n cough.
