isn't that a question for your Dr....you should have asked him/her.
Yahoo isn't a clinic or hospital.

Plavix does not thin blood(that is wayfarin/coumidin). Plavix makes your blood slicker so it does not readily stick to itself nor adhere readily to the rough spots on the inside of the arteries where there is cell damage and thus block the blood flow...blood thinners literally make the blood thinner BUT they do not keep it from sticking to itself or anything else.....
You have to change the way you eat and exercise in order to help this process along there are no magic pills(sadly)

drugs like plavix help to make the blood thinner so that it moves better in the arteries. the problem is that in case of an injury or emergency surgery there is a tendency to bleed much more than normal. the property of the drug is to prevent clot formation.use it only if absolutely necessary.

Plavix will not "clear" your arteries. It is an antiplatelet medication (not a blood thinner) to help prevent new clots from forming. Does your doctor have any future tests for you?

Plavix doesn't clear the arteries. It thins the blood so it can pass through the narrowings easier.
If you haven't done so already, go see a vascular surgeon. He/she specializes in claudication (leg pain with walking). Treat can be endovascular (catheter based) or surgical.

I have never heard of any medicine clearing your arteries they may improve in time but the only way to fix is a bypass.

It is not unusual to be taking Plavix for the rest of your life. They are trying to prevent one of those clots from dislodgng and going to your heart or brain.

I'm not sure about that, you should not only ask your doctor but discuss your condition w/ him thoroughly. My Dad had clogging of the arteries and didn't stay abreast of his condition as he should have, he passed away 4 mo ago it was a terrible shock to me as he lived w/me. So even though I can't personally answer your Q, I write to say please stay abreast of your condition for your sake and that of those that love you--take care.
