how much blood is needed in a comprehensive STD test (where you want the lab to see if you have anything)? i am talking about when you go to the doctors and they take some blood, how much blood is taken like that?

Last time I had a full screen, they drew 3 red-top vials of blood (for HIV and syphilis testing). I didn't get a herpes test, though, 'cause it was offered at the clinic.

But for a full screen, you will also need to give a urine sample or had your urethra swabbed (I recommend the former). The swab or urine samples are used for gonorrhea and chlamydia cultures.

A few viles, but some STDS take a while to show up, so you may have to do more than just one comp. test to determine for sure if you have any.

1 vile of blood. and no, it doesnt take a while for it show up... i found out the same day from my blood tests!
