i've been asking my boyfriend to go get tested for stds and such... and the last time when i asked him if he did, he said that the navy tested everything for his re-enlistment. i knew that they run blood test and they check up on shots and all...but do they actually do a STD check? i'm kind of iffy about my boyfriends answer... so i wanted to know if they do a STD check for re-enlistments.

i want to go on the birth control pills, but before that... i want to make sure we're both free of STDs. ive been asking him to do so, and recently..he told me they included it in the physical.. i wasn't too sure about that. and ive been getting lots of answers that they dont check unless asked for.. thank you all so much.

They do test for it but only if there is any symptoms. If there is none and they don't say naything then there is not test. My father has been in the military for 20 years and he said that there is no test for the STD unless you ask to get it.

Go with him and get a test. You could call the local recruiter to see if they do that. I seriously doubt they do. Maybe he has an STD that he is embarassed about. Find out before you have unprotected sex. And sometimes military men/women stray when they are on deployments and such.

if your boyfriend is acting weird about getting an STD test, you may want to reconsider having him as a sexual partner.

infact, it may even be a good idea for YOU to get yourself checked, cause his actions sound fishy to me.

my boyfriend is in the Air Force and to my knowledge they do not do an STD test upon re-enlistment.

No they dont check them at reenlistment time. Then only check them for drugs and alcohol. (My husband has been on for 13 yrs)
