Chicken flavor is not a meat. However, that flavor comes from chicken broth which is attained by boiling chicken meat with onions and black pepper. Chicken cubes and flavor that you find in the grocery also comes from chicken broth.

Technically, the flavor is not meat but it comes from the meat. If your concern is that they had to kill an animal to get the chicken flavor, then the answer would be yes.

You can buy some boullions that are "chicken" flavour but they are 100% vegetarian. The brand I buy is McCormicks. They also have a very good all vegetable "beef" flavour. I am in Canada and you can buy this brand at any supermarket.

As for things like ichiban noodles that are chicken flavour, they usually have some meat in them and are not vegetarian. Unless it says "vegetable-derived" or something, I wouldn't trust it.

If you actually like the flavor of chicken, why are you vegetarian? Most people, to get that chicken flavor, they eat the chicken. Silly girl!

Is this a vegetarian question? The answer would then be yes because they use chicken to make chicken base for soups and sauces if this is what you are asking.

I certainly don't eat it. It really stinks, because restaurants will sneak it in some dishes that appear to be vegetarian. You have to ask.
