I just saw on the news that they want to give a 11 year old girls a shot to protect against HPV. Then I saw the person saying 'it will lead to premarital sex'..blah blah. I think that is ridiculous. The shot will help protect against cervical cancer. That is a good thing. What do you think?

kids are going to have sex and i think they need to be educated about it rather then told not to do it. i have hpv and i wish that i would have known about the vaccine or even the disease. i didnt even know what it was until the doctor told me i had it. and now i have to live y life wondering if i am going to die from cervicle cancer. so i think that people need to jsut stop being stupid and see that the people wanting to give this vaccine to children are jsut trying to prevent them from getting cervicle cancer. they need to wake up and realize that kids are having sex whether they want to beleive it or not and abstanince is not helping.

I'm with you. Kids are going to have sex anyway, so they might as well have some protection. If you look in the pregnancy and parenting section of Answers, you can see that they're obviously not using condoms, so any degree of protection is better than what they're doing now.

I think that it is a VERY good idea! HPV is very contagious! Studies show that 85 % of sexual active ppl have it. It has different levels but it could hurt your ability to have kids! SO YES it is necessary!
