From as long ago I can remember Ive had congestion and Ive lived in FL,LA,TX, CA, NC, and MI. Ive found what helps the best is hot showers. The morning one helps keep your head clear all day and at night helps you sleep. When it gets really bad at night I prefer Vicks rub instead of taking a decongestant.

in case you pick to flow for nasal spray, you've sprays like Sudafed nasal spray. in case you pick a house treatment, take boiled water and salt and put in a sterilized field. Wait till water turns into warmth. Get countless the answer of warm temperature water and salt with a dropper. positioned some drops in each and each and every nostril even as your nostril is dealing with the ceiling.

The more water I drank the day before the less my congestion bothers me. Caffeine , and alcohol cause dehydration and could make your congestion worse. Breath right strips (funny shaped band-aids that hold your nose open) can also give you some relief.
I also use behind the counter decongestants. The stuff that is still on the shelves don't work for me.
:( Thanks to all the stupid drug dealers who are causing us to have to loose our privacy to get the meds we need.

nasal lavage (its French). put a pinch of salt in 1/2 cup warm water, and sniff it up your nose (over the sink of course). Works wonders. A cool mist humidifier to which you have added a pint of hydrogen peroxide to a gallon of water, run while you sleep might help.

I boil a pot of water in the AM to raise the humidity. This solves the problem for me. It seems that my sinuses are just responding to the fact that the air in my apartment gets too dry overnight.
