I am having a problem with what I originally thought to be a yeast infection, but now am not so sure! It started off with that uncomfortable feeling that you get with a yeast infection, however now I have what seems to be a rash on one side of the lip of my vagina. It is swollen and inflamed and REALLY sore. I think it may have some little white spots too! It hurst really badly and won't stop or go away! We had sex the night before this started. It has been since Tuesday. last Tuesday!
I am married and I have been tested since then which was 2 years ago, and have not done ANYTHING with anyone other than my husband! So, if it is an STD, how did I get it? To my knowledge he has not done anything with anyone else, but I have never had this problem before!
I am freaking out and I can't tell him because he will immediately accuse me of cheating? (He is that type of guy, not OMG how are you, but OMG how could you do that?) I have to know what is going on before I say anything to him.

It is officially really red and does have white spots on it, I think it's kind of oozy. It really really hurts to pee, but I think it is because it's raw fromt he rash type thing!
And as for the people saying run to the doctor, the reason I am asking on here is so I can decide which doctor to go to and have an idea of what they might say! Our family doctor is my husband's cousin! Which poses a problem, because they talk and it's a small town with no other doctors to choose from! I will have to try and get in with my obgyn whic is an hour away and always takes a while to get in!
Also, I want to know somewhat what it may be because I don't want to loose it totally in the docotrs office if they say an std, or whatever, because that means my husband has to have been cheating on me, right?!

WOAH. Don't jump to conclusions like some of these other people have.

Your husband may have not cheated on you, and you may not have an std.

To be honest, it sounds like a bacterial infection of some sort. I would go to your regular family doctor to find out what it is if you do not want to wait on your OB.

If you do find out that it is an std, then yes, obviously he has been cheating on you. I would kick him to the curb and confront him about it AFTER going to the doctor and making sure it is an std.

But to be honest, don't think it is. Again, seems like a bacterial infection. I don't want to sound gross or anything, but having anal sex and not cleaning before inserting into vagina can cause bacterial infections. Or, if your husband isin't the cleanest down in his "area", it could cause a bacterial infection as well.

Well it's not warts, because those don't hurt or itch.
It is most likely a yeast infection, for which you should see a doctor to make sure. If you just guess and buy an over-the-counter treatment, it could worsen your problem and cause a yeast infection that will be more difficult to treat.
Another possibility is a vaginal infection--probably bacterial.

It most likely is not an STD, seeing as neither of you have had any relations with other people.

I definitely recommend making an appointment with a doctor today--as soon as you can get in. They've probably seen this a lot and you probably have nothing to worry about.

Good luck :-)

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Get off the computer and get yourself to the doctor. Only a medical professional can tell you what's wrong down there. And if your husband is that much of a schmuck to accuse you of cheating on him, then you're better off without him.

Edit: Go to a doctor that isn't related to your husband. There has to be somewhere you can go that no one knows him. And doctors are required to keep your information and diagnosis confidential. It's a part of the oath they take when they become a doctor. If they break confidentiality, you can sue him. You're better off going to a doctor and getting diagnosed than sitting at home scaring yourself to death about what you might or might not have. It sounds like you're in a lot of pain and discomfort. You need treatment for whatever it is that you're affected with. If it is an STD, you REALLY need treatment, as some of them can cause problems with your reproduction. And since you know that you've been faithful to your husband, if you do have an STD, he's the one who gave it to you. So you can chew his @$$ up one side and down the other, and then kick him out. Any man who would cheat on you and give you an STD needs to be castrated. You deserve better. Please, go see a doctor. You'll finally know what's wrong. Not knowing is always worse than finding out. At least you'll know what's wrong and can treat it, whatever it is.

ssshhhh. be still,
now think, have you had to use antibiotics prior or during the course of treatment with them.
i asked because it does sound like a yeast infection, but not treated correctly and allowed to progress to the point you have now described.
sometimes, it's the little things that if not understood, make a whole lot more worry than needed.
if you are still worried, ( see your doctor anyway, it might need more meds than an otc can offer.) ask for the blood work with him.
it might be easier than all this fear.

The only way to tell is to have your health care provider examine you and get properly diagnosed. Yes, it may be yeast or you may have a bacterial infection (not an STD), and need antibiotics.
