Well, I'm a Christian, and it is made pretty clear in the Bible that certain kinds of meat are okay to be eaten. Plus, I don't believe that killing is a sin, but I do believe that murder is a sin. I don't think killing cows, chickens, or fish for their meat is murder, and therefore I don't believe that it is bad at all to eat them. Actually, there are several essential nutrients in meat that you cannot get from a fully vegetarian diet, although you can probably find supplements to replace them. Anyways, I don't think that there is any reason why people shouldn't eat meat if they want to, but if you want to be a vegetarian or vegan, then go for it. You'll most likely be getting a lower fat diet with more fiber, vitamins, and minerals anyways; you'd just need to supplement the missing nutrients.

Eating meat was meant to be to a certain point. As was stated they should not be tortured when they are getting slaughtered, they should just be killed cleanly and quickly, slicing the throat is best. I too prefer to not eat meat, but I am not here to tell the next guy that he should not eat meat for it is a sin, how do you even know that for a fact, it says that no where in any religion (some restrict the types of meat that can be eaten such as pork in Musllim and Jewish and also, beef in Hindu, Jewish also forbides certain animals such as camels and also mostly all fish and shellfish are a no too). Killing an animal as cruel and disturbing as it is will never be stopped because there is always someone that loves that juicy steak, and there are animals that kill other animals as well! What to tell them? Yea, I thought not. Anyways, what about the vegetables, they were once living too, they were growing in the ground living their life, then they were picked. It was killed too, should we starve ourselves? No, it is ok if others want to eat meat, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO, just try and think of all the good that will come of it. If there is anything good that will come of it, and just be glad that you are not the one that is killing them! I could never do that, unless I was being attacked! I hope that this helps! Good luck!

Killing is not a sin. Murder is sin, this is true when you look at Bible, it is the hatred that is the sin not the act of killing. Think about this, King David a man after God's own heart had a song about him, "Saul has killed thousands but David has killed tens of thousands." I personally don't eat meat either, but not based on religious reasons or any reason actually. Albert Einstein said, "Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."
One more thing about eating meats in 1 Corinthians 8 it speaks of eating meat check it out.

Don't kill then. Let somebody else do it. And for crying out loud, don't eat living things. Wait till they're dead!
People have eaten meats and grains both, since cave-man times. That's why we have two types of teeth. But nobody can tell you what to eat or what not to. If you'd rather be total veggie, or total carnivore, that's up to you. Myself, I enjoy variety in foods so much that I could never take being strictly one or the other.

I love meat. I think it's a sin to kill poor vegetables. You cut off their heads and hearts, skin them, boil and grill them. How offensive!

Jesus ate meat, it says so in the Bible. He even feeds whousands of people with the stuff. In the old testament God COMMANDED the killing and eating of animals. I'm going to guess God isn't against it.

How can people compare killing plants to killing an animal, that's stupid.
Some old guys were passing out bibles outside of my school an they showed me this quote,I don't know if it the basis for anything though, and I'm not religious.
"Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things are indeed pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense.
It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak."

So call me a sinner.
If you are going to bring "sin" into it, I don't know if you mean in the biblical sense. If so - the bible is clear - God put animals here for man to use (not abuse).
I personally don't go for that, but you brought up the issue of "sin".
I wonder how many "sins" you commit because you "want to" (premarital sex, cheating on taxes, etc.)

Its actually a sin not to eat meat. People are at the top of the food chain for a reason.
It is also a sin that we cannot eat vegetarians.
