I7 years ago, I got a cold, and then after the cold it left me with a feeling of having something stuck in my throat. like a mucus; I went to two doctors, one told me tat i just had mucus stuck to my throat and the other told me that I had a sinus infection. Well the doctor (sinus) gave me some medicine, and i took it, but it didn't do anything. I still have that feeling in my throat, and it has not gone awy and its been a reaaaaaaaaaally long time ( 7 years). I've gotten so used to it, that it doesn't really bother me anymore. but today the feeling got worse, and its kinda hard for me to swallow. Does anyone know what's wrong with my throat? IMy mom tells me that it would get better, but it's been seven years and it has not gone away...Is it really sinus infection?

Get a new doctor. Go see a doctor you've never seen before and give him that exact story. Sounds like chronic upper respirtory infection to me. (sinuses, ears, throat, ect...)

It certainly doesn't sound like a typical sinus infection. You should probably see an ENT (ears, nose, and throat specialist), for something that is as chronic as this and with this acute episode feeling worse, I would think your regular Dr. would be glad to give you a referal. A sinus infection can follow a cold but usually has symptoms of pain, pressure, or tenderness over the sinus cavities. Also with colorful nasal drainage,(yellow-green) and often with fever and headache. Good Luck.

Sinus infections don't last 7 years, at least none that I've ever heard of. See a medical treatment provider, preferably one who doesn't just say you have mucous in your throat. If you've had it in your throat to this extent for 7 years, something needs to be fixed and a doctor should know better than that. Good grief.

You really need to see a good doctor who will do more testing to see why you are feeling this...could be nothing, but you don't want to run the risk of it being something serious and finding out too late...if you can't find a really good regular medical dr...try finding a ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist...a cold (or sinus infection)should not leave something like this behind, especially for any length of time...good luck!

Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html
