Well, if you were both tested previously and have been faithful, an STD that is hard to detect would be the HPV virus. Men are carriers but there are not really any common tests for them unless they have an outside symptom. HPV can lie dormant.

You should get tested even if they are a vergin because STDs can be transmitted through the mothers breast milk and also through not cleaned needles for like using drugs and getting tattoos. Look at these sites they tell you everything:
http://www.umm.edu/men/stds.htm
http://www.cdcnpin.org/scripts/std/std.asp

This one is very good:
http://www.pamf.org/teen/sex/std/std/

GOOD LUCK

If you get tested then you and your partner should be fine!

were they tested for them before they got in the relationship? There are some STD's that can be dorment for a while such as herpes or HPV. Those can be dorment for a while and then appear.

This can be a scary subject. I know they swear they havent been unfaithful...but if it is something else that has a shorter life span...there could be something else going on...

First of all did either of you know your STD status before the relationship? Did you have pap smears yearly? If so, diseases like chlamydia, trichomoniasis, and gonorrhea would have shown up. According to the CDC HPV,Chlamydia,Hepatitis B, Gonorrhea, either has mild or no symptoms. Syphilis has indistingshable symbols.

Very rare, it is more probable your Boyfriend cheated... very sorry to hear your in that situation.. it happened to me too. I'm battleing very hard w/ depression right now and I'm feeling some type of peace with myself by comforting others... Hopefully your STD is curable, unlike mine, However I've taken a self vow to have my sickness stop at me & will never ever make someone feel as I do.

Some folks are 'carriers' of some STDs and do not know that they have the illness until another (a partner) shows symptoms . . . this is a rare situation, but possible.

You can carry some STDs without having symptoms, so yes, that can happen. Sorry, I can't remember which ones they are.

Highly unlikely. But, possible. I'm guessing someone cheated.
