YES it's technically the afternoon so why not, I would not think twice if I was your guest I would kinda expect it to be honest.

It is never too early for Champagne.
There are a few variances you could also try:
Mimosa, 1/2 Champagne & 1/2 Orange Juice
Poinsetta, 1/2 Champage & 1/2 Cranberry Juice
Monteleone, 2/3 champage 1/3 Chambord

I think that a champagne toast is a very nice idea. I don't think that it's too early in the day. Many nice restaurants, for example, have champagne brunches around that time of day or even earlier.

well, its done all the time. Serve with organge juice but provide otheer non alcoholic beverages as not everyone is crazy about drinking so early in the day. Alcohol always brings out the worst in some people. Even one drink is too much for some people. So be prepared for the fireworks! I know of people who have gotten into car wrecks and died after just one or two drinks.

Is not too early, I would choose rose champagne if you can splurge, otherwise a blush sparkling seems pretty fitting in such a sweet celebration. Another choice is a cocktail with champagne like a Bellini with peach puree, light and appropiate.

Kir Royales would be a perfect champagne cocktail for a bridal shower. It is fancy and feminine. For a Kir Royale you mix champagne with creme de cassis. They are yummy! Here is the recipe:

Sure. it's a celebration! have sparkling cider or sparkling water poured for those who don't want a drink. and you could always make a mimosa (with 1/2 champagne and 1/2 orange juice - or orange/peach or another blend) to cut the alcohol. Great for brunch! Garnish them with a slice of orange - or make them extra yummy and pink if you add Kir Royale (raspberry liqueur).

9 a.m. how about a kit for the bride's morning routine? a nice basket of spa soaps, gels, salts, lotions, etc. a beautiful thick fluffy pink! bath sheet, an equally nice bathrobe, that kind of thing? or you could do the morning routine in the kitchen, a basket filled with quality coffees and teas, with a couple of really nice coffee mugs and a recipe or two for scones and muffins? maybe a subscription to the morning newspaper for your city to start the day they go back to their 'regular' lifestyle?

Absolutely! Champagne is often served at brunch before noon! It's also an indulgence people don't normally do, so it makes it special.

It's never a time of day issue when it comes to alcohol-it's moderation that can be an issue. And if that isn't a good enough answer, most people say as long as it's after noon, it's all good.
