Omega-3 is good for any arthritis or inflammation, and everyone tells me to eat fish...I won't because I am Vegan.

Everyone's mentioned flax, which is good. But do keep it in the fridge. Don't waste your money on capsules. Buy straight oil, or seeds. And again, keep them in the fridge. Flax is very delicate and goes bad quickly. If it smells fishy, toss it out. It's gone bad.

Do not cook with flax oil. It kills all that is good in the flax.

Walnuts are particularly good for arthritis.

Hemp is also a good source of omegas. Both 6 AND 3 so I consider it a better value.

Still better, Udo's vegan 3, 6, 9 Blend. Cover ALL your bases! See the link below.

For the bozos that responded with fish oil, you should know that all but the most expensive fish oils come from farmed salmon. Farmed salmon has grey flesh, it's so toxic. See the link provided. Walmart is one of the worst offenders.

You can buy flax seed oil in the refrigerated section of Wild Oats or a similar store. It is more concentrated than other forms of flax seed, and easier to use. I mix a Tbsp with juice in the mornings so I'm sure to get some daily, but it can be used with vinegar as a salad dressing or in other cooking. It is an excellent source of omega 3's.

I've linked wikipedia on flaxseed oil for further information.

krynmusic is totally right. The asker doesn't eat fish or anything made from it; therefore, said asker should eat oil from a fish.

Walnuts, flax seeds, and I hear they have some awesome new seaweed oil supplements that have the same kind of omega-3's fish do.

EDIT: I was being sarcastic in the first paragraph, in case anyone didn't realize that...

Search for "vegan omega-3 supplement" -- stuff will come up. Don't just grab the first seaweed-source thing you see off the shelf; most, it seems, come in gelatin capsules.

Hint: look for DHA supplements marketed to pregnant vegetarians...

Ground flax seed goes rather well in a home-made muesli, too.

Hi, I just switched to Flax Seed oil capsules...I also like the seeds, but the oil is high in Omega 3 and you don't get any after taste if you burp...It really is better....for me anyhow.

walnuts are high in omega 3 fatty acids. i eat an ounce a day for health benefits. bear in mind not all nuts high in monounsaturated fat are necessarily high in omega 3's. almonds are high in monounsaturated fat but it is the omega 6 kind.
