I sent out invites to my daughters first birthday. Alot of people have been invited and we need to know how many people are comming. What is the best way to find out? Can I send out another card, kind of like a RSVP reminder? Is this tacky? What should I say? HELP! the party is in 2 weeks.

Send a reminder!! Its not rude or tacky. Explain your reasons for needing to know such as whether you need to know how many vegetarians you have coming and the caterers need to know asap, or you have a table to book at a restaurant or you need to let 'Versace' know how many gift bags to make up (now that should get the replies coming in fast!!)

I'd say wait 1 week before the party... and call asking if they received the invite and if they can make it.
Or...
When was the "RSVP by" date?
I'd give it a couple to 3 days after the RSVP by date to let the RSVP's make it through the postal service before giving a call.

In regards to sending a reminder... I would not.
If they ignored the first invite, they'll probably ignore the reminder.
Calling is best.

The reception info & RSVP needs to be 2 separate cards. The guest needs to keep the reception info card and they need to mail back the RSVP card. Not true that 90% will not mail them back. You can have an email option, but you also need to have a mail in option too. Never, ever put registry info anywhere with your invitation. That is only given by word of mouth to guests that ask. Throw out those cards the stores give you. They are just marketing to boost their sales. You need to provide an RSVP card with a stamped/addressed envelope for your guests to mail back to you.

Reminders by phone would be better, unless you're talking really huge numbers of guests (I hope not, for a first birthday party, or you're on the slippery slope to bankruptcy by the time your little princess is six!)
The phone reminder lets you blame the post -- "I wondered if the invitation went astray, so I just thought I'd give you a call to ask if you'll be coming."
That way it doesn't sound tacky, and you get an answer straight away from the naughty/forgetful peeps who are keeping you waiting.

Anyway, hope it's a wonderful day! :D

Email or call them and casually ask them if they are planning on joining you. I wouldn't send an rsvp reminder - it's a little pushy. If you slip it into the conversation or email they'll never know that you might be panicing on the inside - and you'll still come across as the calm, cool and collected host that you want to be. :)

I agree that you should contact them. Apparently these days people don't think they need to bother to RSVP anymore. Very rude and tacky. And, I hear, that even when they RSVP, they do not feel obligated to call to cancel if they can't make it. Everyone is SOoooo busy these days, they think they don't have time to be considerate. Very sad.

On the day the RSVP expires, call those that did not respond to make sure. You need to make sure they received the invite.

Dont send another invitiation, but if u have all the phone numbers call them and just say "Hi there (Jimmy) i was just wondering if you were able to come to (Lola's) birthday party, i need to know how many people are coming" Or something along lines with that. You can also do it by email, i did it for my pary and it worked out great!

it's pretty rude that they haven't responded, that's the whole idea. just call them up if your not sure, so you can get a good head count. it shouldn'r be taken the wrong way, once again they are in the wrong. in the future make sure you make the rsvp sound urgent, people are just lazy these days and won't resond to anythig else.

its ok, just call them or send out an email saying did they receive the rsvp, and do they plan to attend.
