No, you won't get the disease, but you are a carrier of the gene that causes cystic fibrosis. If you married a person who also had the gene, your children would actually have a 1 in 4 chance of getting cystic fibrosis. Both of you having the gene does not insure your children will be born with it. If you are concerned, make sure to get genetic testing prior to having children.

A person who is a carrier will not get the disease. To get the disease both parents must be carriers, then the child would be born with Cystic Fibrosis. 1 in every 30 Caucasians carry the gene so it is a good idea for them to see if they are carriers of CF before having children. Hope this helps.

it depends on whether it's dominant or not. You could just carry the gene but not present the disease physically. If your gene is recessive then it doesn't mean you could later get Cystic Fibrosis, it means that you have it encoded in your DNA but that it won't express itself.

not exactly, it depends on if the gene is a recessive gene or dominant gene and what combinations of genes you have...short answer is NO...just because you carry the gene does not mean you'll have the disease, you could just be a carrier and it will affect your unborn child however. So get some expert advice.
