it could be any number of things. the question is -- do you feel depressed. sleeping more than usual and not talking to people could be anxiety which is not dissimilar to depression and often they go hand in hand . often times anxiety attacks can also feel physically painful, especially around the chest and throat area one can feel tightness. i'd definitely make an appointment to see a doctor because pains in the chest are not to be taken lightly. but as for depression it's hard to say. do a web search for depression symptoms and take the quiz... depression usually manifests in several ways - changes in sleeping patterns, changes in diet, lack of interest in things that you formerly enjoyed, withdrawal from friends/family. my recommendation, see a doctor for the pains in your chest and talk about your feelings. there are great ways to feel better, diet, exercise, medication, meditation and so on. good luck and feel better!

The signs and symptoms of clinical depression are:
Persistent sad, anxious or "empty" mood
Changes in sleep patterns
Reduced appetite and weight loss, or increased appetite and weight gain
Loss of pleasure and interest in once-enjoyable activities, including sex
Restlessness, irritability
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as chronic pain or digestive disorders
Difficulty concentrating at work or at school, or difficulty remembering things or making decisions
Fatigue or loss of energy
Feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
Thoughts of suicide or death
If you experience five or more of these symptoms for two weeks or longer, you could have clinical depression. See a doctor or qualified mental health professional for help, right away.
