You should really see a doctor who would recommend an xray. You could have bronchitis or even pneumonia and not know it. Dont wait but see a doc now.

Simple - go to the doctor.
If it has lasted that long then chances are it is not just a basic cough, you could be looking at a mild chest infection or throat infection that will really require antibiotics. Cold should only last up to a week, sore throat and cough should be gone a week after that, I'd say there is something more going on there and if medicine is not working after three days then you should consult a GP.

Get yourself checked out for asthma. If a cold is going straight on your chest and it's made worse by exercise then that could be the problem. If it is, then you will be given an inhaler and that will help a lot. If not you should still get checked out by a GP just in case you have a chest infection - won't clear up without antibiotics.
Good luck

You could have whooping cough, bronchitis or even pneumonia.
Do not breathe in that cold air. My guess is bronchitis unless you got that "whoop" where you have to suck in your breath several times to catch your breath in between coughing.
Cover up your mouth and nose with a scarf when outside. That cold air is irritating your lungs and throat.
Actually if you feel it in your lungs (pain) you should get to the doctors. They can give you puffers to control the coughing and ease the spasms. Cough drops etc. don't do a thing.
Whooping cough is going around the country and you can actually have it for months...same with bronchitis. Watch out for pneumonia (pains in lung, fever, lethargic etc.) as it can spread and you need antibiotics to cure it.

Everything around your throat and what you drink, should be warm. Do not expose yourself to the cold weather. Be very careful because you could end up with respiratory therapy, and reduce your pulmonary capacity.
