All three of us have birthdays in February so it will have to be something indoors. We want to have something big to celebrate turning 18 but are having a joint party to cut the cost.

How about going to a teen dance club? When my friends and I turned 18 this is what we did, and it was a blast. Maybe talk to the managers before hand and see if you can get specials on sodas and snacks.

The moral issue with birth control. BC works in 3 ways. First two ways prevent pregnancy, the third makes it to where if you do get pregnant the fertilized egg can't attach to your uterus, thus forcing an abortion of the egg. We don't use BC for this reason either. We too hope to have as many as the Lord provides, because He does tell us to be fruitful and multiply (amongst other scriptures). I think that it's really no one's business. For some reason people feel that they should get to tell others how to use their money, raise their kids, etc. If they see raising Godly children as a cause, then let them raise their children, as many as that may be, the way they see fit. They live debt free and without government assistance so I don't have any complaints about them. As long as she is in good health and the babies are fine, I see no reason for them to put the breaks on. And I have friends that are personal friends of the family and the children are not weird, unsocial freaks. They are a wonderful family and I wish half of the one or two children homes were raised as wonderfully as they are.

There r 5 of us that do that- in November all the same day different years! Since 1995 we have done this! They come from all over now for this weekend.

Our first one was an Hawaiian Lula in mid-November. Bare bellys in grass skirts and all. We were all single woman that year and it was so funny - I picked it-So everyone got laid at least once that year. We loved themes and did everything from Disney to Charlies Angels. We even did "drag queens" from To Wong Foo movie, dear god that was a fun time in public.

We start with a guest list-fun folks only! we keep it to 2-6 each

We start with a brunch w/driver - just "us 5" to catch up exchange gifts. We don't ask for gifts from our friends, just for them to pick up their own tab! Since most of them know us all. Our activities are NOT cheap about $100+ per person anyway.

DO an activity-group
dinner (rotates on WHO picks it)
dessert- we go to a place called "The Chocolate Bar"

We have done everything from Renaissance Festivals, Skydiving, rock climbing to spa days- together

dinners Mexican, Italian or party (catered Asian, BBQ or Greek)

The year when some of us were prego or sick, we moved it into the house and it was just us. Pot luck and prayers. It really didn't upset us to cancel the plans and just be alone, it seemed "right" for us all to do that together. It became a part of our year.

Last year one of the five died and so on the "birthday" we (4)celebrated her life with her favorite things and took her daughter with us. We had a photo of her head 8x10 and put it up in all the group shots with different hats and once with a boa. We laugh so much we hurt. Her daughter laughed and cried so much.
It was a great day of healing for us all.

SO it may just be a little party for you, but Girl- they can turn into a lifetime of love in friendship. You get to start at 18, we all wish we had started sooner, time is too short when it comes to having fun!

Ask one of your parents to have a big bash in someone's backyard. I would think the one with the biggest yard of course. Do like a Hawaiian theme or even a retro theme. Get people into dressing up and make something to remember. Playing the music of that era, decorate according to that era as well, you will see the response. another idea would be to have a scavanger hunt. talk to different neighbors and stores in your area. Create a list of things people have to accomplish before a certain time and give out prizes. There are tons of ideas out there, hope you find one!

I don't know what sort of places you have in your town, but why not celebrate your entrance into adulthood by dressing up in your best outfits and heading off to a fancy establishment for afternoon tea? You could go out afterwards with other friends but make this just for the three of you. It would be your own entrance into a world of refinement and elegance and possibly set the stage for how you chose to enjoy the future.
I think that people who enjoy the finer things in life enjoy life more.

Definately a fancy dress party! they're so much fun. You could have themed fancy dress party, such as 'cops and robbers', or 'famous couples'. It gets people talking about the party for weeks before hand, trying to compare ideas for outfits

CHUCK E. CHEESE

Minus the nasty Pizza, and the horrible childish atmosphere...

Okay, scratch that all together...

Try one of those rock climbing gyms...celebrate your 18th by climbing a giant indoor wall!
