Hopefully by now you've already been seen in the ER. Any tightness in the chest could be from the heart and should be evaluated by an ER immediately. While Xoponex has less effect on the heart than Albuterol and some other medications, it still does have some effect of raising the rate, force, and irritibility of the heart. If you're having some type of cardiac event (abnormal rhythm or even heart attack) the effects of the Xoponex could make the condition worse. The jitteriness is a common side effect of the Xoponex, but the continuation of the chest pressure and the increased shortness of breath are both possible danger signs that need to be dealt with right away.

O.K. First you said you have a pacemaker and asthma. If you have asthma then you have had neb's before. You know they make you feel jittery. Although xopenox is supposed to not have the jitterness that albuterol has, it still happens. Do you have a flow meter? Why do you have a pacemaker? If you have heart issues and the neb didn't help then there is a chance that the problem isn't just your lungs. Why sit on the computer and take a chance with your life. Go get checked out!!

It could be your pacemaker isnt functioning correctly - so therefore not enough blood is getting to your vital organs, including your brain. Get it checked out ASAP.

Are you having a heart attack? If so, then it would feel like an elephant is standing on your chest. Go see your doctor and see what's up.
