Do you possibly mean SVT? Supra ventricular Tach
It's a rhythm originating 'above the ventricles' It means the normal pacemaker of the heart isn't originating the beat of the heart.
In regular terms it means that the heart kinda has a irregular pulse originator, and the usual place that the first impulse comes from is not where this originator comes from. It's a fast rate, usual fast rate as in running, not normally over 150. But, in this rhythm the rate can go up to 200 or more. It so fast it can cause low blood pressure, fainting, chest pain and shortness of breath. In some, it can cause a heart attack. Medicine can control it, and in some cases they have to do an ablation-where they 'burn' the place that keeps originating the pulse. If someone's in that rhythm there is medicine called adenosine that can get them out. Sometimes a 'cardioversion' or (paddles) can be used-depends on how stable the patient is. But, sometimes the patient goes in and out of it themselves. Sometimes coughing can get people out of it, and there's other things that can be done. Hope this answers your question without confusing things more.
