At age 30 you have hypertension with a blood pressure of that magnitude you should seek out a doctor and be investigated for the reasons it is so high
Overweight and high cholesterol levels amy well be the problem.
For someone in the normal weight range and age 30 your BP should be about 120/70.
Medication a change in diet and exercise will prolong your life a little longer, ignore the early signs at your own peril.
I suggest you contact a doctor immediately to get you started on reducing that BP

Not sure there is direct a connection between age and high blood pressure but at 30 you've probably been working for some time and hence bad habbits start to accumulate.

A couple of my friends got diagnosed for diabeties around this age and stress related issues are quite common too.

High blood pressure is not age specific. My daughter has a 22 year old friend that has high blood pressure and is on meds.

140/100 is high for someone your age. I hope your doctor put you on meds. The 100 is the most alarming number.

Is not age specific. I am 26, not even orverweight, but have a lot of stress going on with an ill parent. My BP is STILL around 130 /93......... Wierd huh? See your Doctor. It's important. I am sorry I don't have more info for you. It is possible simply cutting out caffeinne or even light excercise can make a small difference and get it back to range of normal. But don't take my word, see a PRO when it comes to the "ticker".........

O yes believe me it can be at any age. Many of us think that only thouse over weight person are likely to get it. I am one who works out everday and always try to eat right. But there is many ways other then the foods you eat to get it. Even those with high stress situatuion is also one factor. Playing with blood pressure is something you want to get proffessional help with . You can have a stroke and then it might be to late. If you having any kind of strange reactions dont be afarid to check with your doc and it can be controled. I no I am one who never thought it might happen to me. I have it and I am a health freak.

Im 17 with tyoe 1 diabetes and they thought I had high blood pressure. My dad and both grandfathers have it so I had high risk of getting it too. since they tested me for it Im guessing anyone can get it at any age.
