I need it for a project. I am in a hurry and all I have at home is Indian spices so can you please suggest some spices that can kill e-coli! Any spices will be appreciated.

If it is from an Indian and you know just the Indian name of the spice, its okay and I will be thankful if you provide just that too. I also was wondering if tumeric can kill e-coli so if you know the answer to that, can you provide it too: Can tumeric kill e-coli??

i haven't heard of any spices with this sort of claim, Indian spices added to indian food in usual quantities are said to have mild preservative qualities, turmeric is said to have antiseptic qualities,I know that in villages a paste of turmeric in cooking oil is applied to surface wounds & the results are said to be good. For a spice to be effective against E.Coli it would need to be truly potent, there are many tested pharmecutical remedies availabe so i think the dependence on a spice is remote.

As far as I know, none of the spices can certainly kill e-coli. All I know is bacteria cannot survive in acidity. Having said that, put a few drops of lemon would definitely make e-coli scream to death.

People are overreacting, as they always do. The e coli threat is miniscule to begin with, and it's really only a danger to children, the elderly and the infirm. Normal healthy adults can shake off an e coli infection like a headcold.

no spices can kill E.coli bacteria, only antibiotics can do that.
Some people have tested this hypothesis, but nothing concrete.

certain spices have beneficial properties to help maintain balance, prevention, aid in digestion.... like ginger, garlic, tumeric,
cumin, cinnamon, cloves...

Cellfood can kill e.coli upon contact. Saw it on 20/20. Just add a few drops to the water you wash your veggies with.
