Good on you for not letting him smoke pot.Does he need a brain transplant as well???? Wait until he gets the all clear from his doctor and then have a few drinks with him.Tell him from me I ain't impressed with him even wanting to smoke pot or wanting to smoke anything for that matter.Alternatively he could just eat mull cookies.

Doctors usually recommend that patients avoid any types of toxins including drugs or alcohol (other than those prescribed) for at least 3 months following a lung transplant, or even longer if there are still problems. Once the surgery is healed and the anti rejection drugs are working smoothly, then lung recipients may be able drink modest amounts of alcohol.

Tell your cuz to wait until the doc clears him and then you can throw him a big party. Remind him that an organ transplant is really a gift that shouldn't be squandered. Your cuz may have got that lung instead of someone else who needed it just as much or maybe even more. It would be a real waste if he rejected the lung because of stupid behavior.

from personal experience i am a lung transplant patient and my doctors are firmly against recreational drinking, i had a young friend that was 19 he also had a lung transplant and he would not listen to medical advice and started drinking and smoking and then stopped taking his meds and less than a year after his transplant he was DEAD leaving his young wife and daughter here to morn his passing.

with all those immunosuppressants he should be on he should not be on any extra drugs. Do you know how many people need organ transplants and don't get them. he is very lucky and should be doing better things with his life then getting high or drunk.
