There's an over-the-counter spray called Snore Relief and another product called Breathe Right Strips that have been advertised a lot on television. I bet that you can find both these products at your local drug store. However, they are only a temporary solution. You should, probably, look for the true cause. People who tend to snore the most: Those who are over-weight, drink alcohol before going to bed, smoke, take a sleep aid to get to sleep, sleep on their back, and use a large pillow that puts a kink in their neck. Snoring, by the way, is when the tissue in the upper airway in the back of the throat relaxes during sleep. When you breathe in, it causes this tissue to vibrate, and that effect is very similar to a wind instrument. I recommend that you see an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist because there are permanent fixes such as the Pillar procedure (implants put in the roof of your mouth). You could also have enlarged tonsils or nasal blockage and, thus, benefit from surgical removal. Too, you should be checked out for sleep apnea whereby you actually stop breathing for a short period of time without always realizing it. People who are deep sleepers and heavy snorers, i.e., you can be heard outside the room, sometimes have this problem.

The Somni Snore Guard worked for me & it doesn't cost that much. You can get it along with other helpful stuff from the Traztech website. You generally find that you need to stop breathing through the mouth and assist breathing through the nose in order to stop snoring.

Avoid drinking alcohol, eating heavy meals at least 4 hours before going to sleep. Nasal passages can be kept clear using a humidifier, inhaling steam, nasal strips and nasal sprays. A continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP) machine may also help, but it is available only on prescription.More remedies

Marylyn mentioned the spray you can get and this is a good temporary measure. The better option is to get a referral to an ENT surgeon have have your nasal passages examined and even corrected. Having been through this myself I am feeling better for having had the surgery and my partner sleeps better.
The snorers of this world have a greater risk of dying in their sleep from apnea
