Teaspoon of honey in 8 oz of hot water with two aspirins to dull the pain. Personally I like lemon or lime juice in mine to cut the phlegm, but that's up to you.

There's also an herbal tea called Throat Coat. Forget the stuff with echinacea, that's been disproven by the FDA. But the ingredients have traditional soothing elements like licorice and eucalyptus.

that's been happening with me too. Just yesterday my throat started to feel really dry and yucky like it does when you wake up, but it lasted all day. I've just been dousing lots and lots of water and I'm feeling a little better. You should probably drink some more water, or if that hurts (whenever my throat is sore it hurts to drink water) try some tea or juice, but also keep trying to drink water. I just read something on this website an hour ago that said a large percentage of Americans are chronically dehydrated and they don't even know it.

i think the best way for my sore throat to go away is get a red beet.

Peel the skin off the beet, and you can slice it and put it into a bowl. Either pour honey on it, or put sugar [which ever you prefer] and let it sit. If you have the stove on put it near there so the sugar/honey gets into the beet.

Wait till you see some juice come out and drink it. It is sooo good and it really does work!

Take in any fluids - warm coffee or tea with milk - soup - hot chocolate - all these will definitely have a soothening effect. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Water is the best liquid to drink. Do not drink any juice because the acids can cause your throat to sting.
