I doubt its considered a medical disease as in theory it has no physical effect on your actual heart. The question is whether the there is actual diseases for the metaphysical idea of the heart!

Hmmm. I'm wondering how I'd treat unrequitted love in my office... In the strict sense, I'd say no. But it sure makes your heart ache, doesn't it??

If you need to go for heart bypass surgery, then it is.
Otherwise, just take a couple of aspirins, get plenty of rest, and call me in the morning!

Emily Dickinson..writes the answer here.

Heart, We Will Forget him
Heart, we will forget him,
You and I, tonight!
You must forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done pray tell me,
Then I, my thoughts, will dim.
Haste! ‘lest while you´re lagging
I may remember him!.

I believe it is...If your heart is where your soul lives....Your heart will pound and quake....the anxiety of lost love is a physical reaction....take care
