okay so my friends and I are in drama, and we're doing shakespeare, one of the plays is Romeo and Juliete, And they cut ALL of the slightly romantic scenes, so Romeo and Juliette are supposed to be "good friends" What kind of just friends get married?

Very good friends...it's like old the fashioned movies...when movies were real acting...and not the porn crap films of today where there is all lust and no surprises.
Everything is left to the imagination. You gaze and touch ever so lovingly. The audiece gets the message if you are good and you both leave to their imaginations as to what will follow.... Juliet is very lovely and femine and Romeo is a true gentleman who respects her. Both have grace and poise like pair skaters. That's acting!
Watch Beauty and the Beast if you don't get it...it's all soft gesture and sweet words. Pure poetry in motion.

Maybe they are trying to make it olden style--like arranged marriages time or something--is this a conservative or religious school that is endorsing the play or something?...if another culture or religious group is producing the play, that might be the reason...Also--it depends on what age level it is for--if it is for younger kids--they might not want to encourage the mesage that kids should be running off adn sleeping with each other and ignoring their parents wishes, etc..it depends on the community that is going to be watching the play--and what message the producers of the play want to give to teh audience..

But yes--it is a bit odd...My guess is it's for younger kids or some religious group...

This is a tasty question! LOL Since it's not the real thing! LOL Why bother doing it? Thats pretty much a pointless issue! No offense to you, but to your teacher not very understanding.
