Hi Kenzie
Here are some answers and remedies.
Causes of Candida
Candida is largely a “modern-lifestyle” condition, meaning that it was virtually nonexistent as recently as 50 years ago. In addition to an over-reliance on antibiotic drugs, which often begin to be administered in childhood at an increasingly early age, other so-called modern lifestyle advances such as birth control pills and synthetic hormone replacement therapy, can also significantly predispose people to developing candida. What follows is an overview of the primary causes of and contributing factors to candida.
Alcohol: Alcohol, because it contains both fermented and refined sugars, acts as a food source that unhealthy bacteria such as Candida albicans thrive upon. In addition, alcohol diminishes immune function and can also create hormonal imbalances, both of which can further increase the risk of candida.
Alcohol consumption can also indicate whether a person is already suffering from candida. People suffering from system yeast overgrowth typically are more likely to experience feelings of intoxication and/or lightheadedness after as little as one glass, or less, of even mild alcoholic beverages such as beer or wine. Even in less severe cases, overall, people who already have candida tend to be more affected by alcohol consumption, and to become sicker when they drink too much, compared to people without candida. In addition, a condition known as “drunk disease” can result from candida. In this condition, alcohol is created in the bloodstream even when no alcoholic beverages have been consumed due to the ability of Candida albicans to turn acetaldehyde, a chemical that is created when sugars and yeast in the body combine to create fermentation, into ethanol. This is precisely the process used by people who brew alcohol at home. Those who suffer from “drunk disease” will remain chronically intoxicated until the condition of their bloodstream is corrected.
Over-consumption of alcohol can impair liver function, making it easier for toxins, including Candida albicans, to spread throughout the body. Alcohol in excess also interferes with your body's ability to absorb vital nutrients from food, further worsening the problem.
Obviously, all of these problems become much more severe in cases of alcoholism. Moreover, typical symptoms of alcoholism, such as depression, gastrointestinal problems, headache, insomnia, postnasal drip, sexual dysfunction, and sinusitis, can also be caused by candida, making a combination of the two conditions twice as symptomatic. Practitioners of alternative medicine also point out that alcoholism can promote other unhealthy habits, including smoking and illicit drug use. Such habits further diminish immune function and can cause other health problems such as respiratory infections that are generally treated with antibiotics, thus increasing the spread and severity of candida.
A Quick Action Plan for Dealing with Candida
1. Find out if you have Candida overgrowth through Darkfield Microscopy blood work testing, electrodermal screening, or other reliable screening, and proceed accordingly.
2. Eliminate all sugar and sugar-containing foods, including alcohol, sweetened chocolate and soda. Eat no fruit other than grapefruit, green apples, and small quantities of berries. Release caffeine products, including coffee and black tea.
3. Do not eat foods that contain yeast or flour such as bread, biscuits, muffins, bagels, cookies, etc. Avoid fermented foods such as soy sauce, and only use apple cider vinegar.
4. Obtain adequate amounts of essential nutrients including vitamin A, beta carotene, all B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, chromium, magnesium, selenium, zinc, essential fatty acids, and the amino acid, taurine.
5. Supplement with the probiotics acidophilus and bifidobacteria.
6. Take digestive enzymes, including ones with amylase and cellulose, as they help eliminate unhealthy yeasts while also aiding overall digestion. Hydrochloric acid (HC1) may be useful as well.
7. Useful herbal remedies include barberry, caprylic acid, citrus seed extract, garlic, goldenseal, oil of oregano, Oregon grape, and tea tree oil.
8. Avoid the use of antibiotics, birth control pills, and all synthetic hormones. Avoid conventionally produced inorganic dairy products, choosing raw organic dairy whenever possible.
Best of health to you

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Yeast infections — a common infection in women caused by an overgrowth of the fungus Candida. It is normal to have some yeast in your vagina, but sometimes it can overgrow because of hormonal changes in your body, such as during pregnancy, or from taking certain medications, such as antibiotics. Symptoms include itching, burning, and irritation of the vagina; pain when urinating or with intercourse; and cottage cheese-looking vaginal discharge.
