By far, vegan is the BEST option. Think about it. You are making the smarter decisions by going vegan because you are causing the least amount of pain and suffering to other lives. If you believe an Animal Rights, Veganism is the only way to go. Vegetarians still use easy to avoid animal products which still exploits animals. Eric Marcus once said " their is more suffering in a glass of milk then a pound of veal." If you believe that animals are not ours to use you must be a Vegan. Put simply Vegetarianism is inconsistent with Animal Rights theory. Veganism is not.

That would depend on the context of the question. For me, being vegan is often better, but not always. For example, socially speaking being vegan is the dietic equivalent of being a reclusive monk, or a hermit, in many people's prejudicial minds. They think we vegans don't want to have anything to do with people who eat meat, like we think they are disgusting, vile slobs who should die a horrible, painful death by stroke, heart attack or cancer. And Meat eaters are supported into thinking this because that is most likely what they will die of, and because too many veg*n people are also hipocritical, dispassionate, agressive war mongers who actually do think what I said above. Activists and protestors like that are the reason environmental activism has been labeled as a form of terrorism by the US government PATRIOT act installed by President Bush.

Being Veg*n is about applying principles that go deeper than choices regarding the food eaten or the clothing worn. It's about compassion, respect, civil rights, non-violence, and unconditional love. People who call themself veg*n who don't apply these principles in everyday life may still be veg*n, but they give us a bad reputation and obscure public opinion and definition of the belief system.

Being a vegetarian is better than eating meat and stuff because it (eating meat) is a sin (sort of) not to mention that its dirty. For example if you eat pork... pigs eat dirty stuff at the farm and when WE eat the pork, it is just like eating the dirty things that the pigs have eaten all their life. Secondly, when an animal is about to be killed... such as a pig...they will scream and squeal because they know they are going to be killed. They will emit a type of 'gas'/chemical thing... sorta like their bad feelings... onto their meat. And when you eat alot of that, it is bad. Therefore, being a vegan is the best because veggies are healthy for you. People are always saying eat more green stuff eat more green stuff! So by eating veggies you are being healthy in the best way possible...without killing anything. If JUST 10 people in the world decided to become a vegetarian forever...imagine how many pigs would be saved! So if half of the population of the world decided to become a vegetarian...ALOT of pigs/animals would be saved from being slaughtered.

Anyways, this is just my opinion. I hope you agree with me :=)

It all depends on WHY you are thinking vegetarian or vegan at all. I was a vegetarian for a while because of the environmental impact, but now find that in Texas, it's better to eat grass-fed, humanely-treated meat that is local (Texas is better for grass grazing than crop growing) than it is to get organic veggies shipped over from Chile.

Well, I am quite the carnivore. However, my mother is a vegan, mostly for religious reasons for about 18 years. The only thing she does eat as an animal byproduct is cheese and milk. (Because you don't kill the cow to get it) Anyways, my mother is in her fifties and she is extremely healthy. Her blood pressure the other day was 100/60. She rarely gets sick at all and she looks way younger than her age. I think for overall health, being a vegan is much better.

Yes, for sure. Although you get different types of vegetarians, some dont eat poultry and others dont eat milk products, so it all depend on what you choose. You need to fill you body with a similar vitamin or mineral if you leave milk or eggs out of your daily diet.

Vegetarian.
Vegan choices, although more extensive than 5 years ago, are still quite limited. Ways to get essential nutrients like protein can be hard and lead to muscle loss. Calcium deficiencies can decrease bone density.
