We know that the virus came from monkeys, but this leaves a bigger question, where did the monkey's get the virus from?

Viruses mutate in the wild. It's a mutation. It is believed to go back as far as the 1950s or even the 1930s, and it is also believed it was from someone eating monkey meat or butchering a monkey and getting blood in a cut (not sex with a monkey, as some people seem to think).

good question. there is a document called the river written by edward hooper. it is over a thousand pages. it claims that it came from the polio vaccinations. you should look it up on the internet you would be surprised what you will learn. as far as a host it is unknown. hiv is the human form of the disease but the monkey's get a different strain called suv. this is the monkey strain of the viris. go to your local library and borrow this book.

The monkey's are a carrier of the virus, it doesn't affect them, but it affects other animals and humans because we have different immune systems. Some stupid guy went and tried to get it on with a monkey, and ended up getting it. He then spread it to other people.

I'm pretty sure that HIV developed in Africa from some sort of monkeys. Hunters got it from getting contact in an open wound with the blood.
(No people did not get "freaky" with monkeys!)

It was part of miltary research into Germ warfare. But try getting the USA to admit to it even though they started the research and the research station had to be abandoned becuse the bug got away and infected some of its technicians.

it came about like all other viruses originate. it was probably just a virus and mutated since it infected a separate species. usually viruses only effect one species.
