I've been smelling cigarettes, peppermints, roses with nothing around to cause it.

I smell cigarettes when I am losing weight. maybe its something like that.

This is more than likely a paranormal experience. Do these smells remind you of anyone who has passed?? Do you think of someone when this happens. If you answer yes to these questions then just enjoy the small miracle you are experiencing. And no that the other side is telling you they are there and telling you that they are around you. This does not happen to everyone and you are very lucky if this is what is happening. Enjoy the Miracle you are experiencing.

You probably have an abnormally strong sense of smell. Are you in the city? Your surroundings probably are the problem, there are hundreds of people around you if you are in the city. Lots of abnormal smells are there.

sometimes if you are thinking about a time in your life when these smells were present your brain tells your nose ur smelling them. thus the phantom smells.

i agree with theone, paranormal experience it could be something/one around you...I have the same things happen to me, it could be your spirit guide. or something else, maybe a love one that has passed on, and just want you to know that they are ok. and for you to keep them in your memory

Sometimes visual cues can trigger subconscious reactions. It happens to me too sometimes.
