Exotic.
Meaning sweet and savoury.
Spicy, nonetheless smooth.
And moreover refreshing can only be one for me.
"Peixe com banana" or also know as "Azulao" is a Brazilian recipe for a main dish. Probably a Amazonian Indigenous recipe
Fish and green banana (cooked with the skin), tomatoes, onions, garlic, coriander all in a casserole and low heat cooking for 20 minutes and voila:
Just beautiful, goes well with rice and of course the banana skin is peeled of just before serving, also the banana turns bluish, quite a different color.
Try one day, and the bonus is that supernutritious.

Thai and Moroccan foods are my favorite 'exotic' foods although I also like good Indian,Greek, Japanese and Spanish. I am Italian despite the Cuban Friend thing, so I don't consider that exotic. Polynesian foods are quite good as well, but difficult to find unless you make them at home. Real Chinese is good also, but rare in America
I love couscous, tagines of lamb, Gyros with taziki sauce, souvlaki, Most all Thai food, Bastilla, Tandoori grilled meats and breads, lamb khorma, sushi/sashimi, tonkatsu pork, and all seafood, except that I am allergic to Tuna and can't eat it or I will die (kind of makes it hard to go to a sushi place, but I manage OK).

Couscous, not just the grain, if I may call it that (I know it's made with semolina), but the whole dish with chicken, lamb, onions, cabbage, courgettes, potatoes, turnips etc. and the spices, yum! You can pretty much use whatever you like or have at hand. Time consuming but worth it. Cheers!

I guess, sushi because it is hard to get the good stuff in america. Plus, it isn't very filling so I can eat loads of it without feeling fat.

I love candied lotus root. Regular lotus root in soups and stews is good ( reminds me of eggplant), but the candied stuff is SO yummy.
oh, yeah- Chinese New Year's coming up, so I can get a bunch from China Town now-- thanks for reminding me!
