Lots of hula dancers/hawaiian-clad servers and keep the pina colada flowing. A roast pig would be a nice touch. Holding the party by a swimming pool or the beach would make really create the ambiance. Ukelele-playing musicians, fire-eating performer, etc.
Aloha! Have fun!!!
Sorry, misread the theme. How could I have???
Anyway, Mardi Gras theme would have Creole or Cajun cooking.
Mardi Gras masks, beads, feathers for everyone. Big, papier mache figures for decor, a voodoo princess/fortune-teller, mint julep iced tea, Zdeco or jazz music, fiesta limbo, Carnval charades, costumes, king & queen of the day, oooohhhhh so much fun!

ok i live in southern louisiana and know all about mardi gras!! there's much more to it than just flashing and boobs! Mardi gras official colors are purple green and gold, so you must have lots of that. Also must have lots of beads! If you can find the masks get those too! Cajun music, like the mardi gras mambo, and a king cake or two. If you plan on serving food, the best thing would be a gumbo. Either chicken and sausage or seafood, whatever you prefer. You could also do a big jambalaya if you dont want gumbo. And for drinks, you have got to serve hurricaines!!! Check out the link below forsome recipies for Mardi Gras food and drinks. There is usually a mardi gras king and queen...you can your husband could get dressed up fancy and act as king and queen! I also posted a link for where to find other mardi gras goodies! Yall have fun!!!

We had a Mardi Gras party. Everyone wore the masks, of course. We hung gold, purple, and green balloons and beads everywhere, and hired a palm reader. She was a friend and an armature, so no one took it too seriously, but it was still a big hit. And so were the rum balls!

I would do a lot of Cajun/Creole type foods...like maybe have a crawfish boil or something. That would be very New Orleans. Make everyone flash your husband and he can throw them a string of beads. HAHAHA!! (Hey! At 40, he would LOVE that!!)

New Orleans style jazz, lots of liquor, lots of cajun food, you can have people dress up in costume with those feathered masks, and after everyone leaves you can flash him to get beads

Beads, alcohol, boobs, and sex.
There really isn't much else to Mardi Gras. That's why it's so beautiful.
