If you don't have asthma, you might have COPD.

Theres about 30 different meds that are used in the 2 group only a Dr should help you find the right one.

All of these meds need a prescription.

I do agree with the prior answer. I too have shortness of breath and was diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed Advair inhaler for my condition. Yet, I bought primatene inhaler from walmart shelf near the cold medication shelf in addition to my prescribed Advair. I used the Primatene inhaler for a sudden attack. I've not used Advair for over 2 years now because it costs so much being a prescribed medication and no generic for it. So I took care of my sudden attack of asthma with Primatene and avoid the situations and places that will cause me to have shortness of breath. Word of caution: I wouldn't use it (Primatene) everyday/ but only when need to.

There are some over the counter inhalers that anyone can get at the drugstore. My daughter uses them when her perscription for her abuterol inhaler runs out, till she can afford to get to the doctor for a new perscription.

However I have to agree with everyone else that you need to see a doctor to find the cause of your shortness of breath. It can be anything from asthma to heart problems.

You really should see a doctor about your Asthma. It's the only way to get proper treatment and control so that you won't have to worry about having attacks during pe.

Those over-the-counter inhalers are not safe for asthmatics. Use only prescribed medication prescribed by the doctor who knows what he/she is doing.

Trust me, I have Asthma and I know.
