I have a plain red satin tablecloth from Christmas, and white linen napkins, i have real lead crystal glasses, champagne flutes, red wine glasses, white wine glasses, whiskey tumblers and brandy balloons - i've made a compilation CD of love songs - and as for later - i'm not worried, coz i'm taking her skiing for a week in Switzerland so there's plenty of time for us to be together!

How romantic you are, what a lucky girl, I hope she appreciates it.
You know, I don't think it matters if you've forgotten something as I'm sure she will be so touched by your thoughtfulness, that she wouldn't notice.
Have a lovely evening.

Just make sure the table is laid beautifully, white tablecloth, red napkins maybe, for valentines. If you have champagne flutes make sure they sparkle, if you've not got any, then try TK Max, you can get a couple of flutes, maybe even crystal for not much at all.
Only other touch, if you like the idea, is a little sorbet to cleanse the palette between the starter and main course.

maybe get a couple more roses....remove the petals and sprinkle them on the table...

Candles should be short...and fragrance-free
should be white...
a salad would probably be too much...
I agree that the champagne is an apertif....and a good red wine...
for the champagne, try a "prosecco" or wolf blass yellow label sparkling brut....very smooth both of them...tho the prosecco is a bit nicer.
try a chilean red wine...Casillero del Diablo makes a nice Carmenere 2005..very smooth.
Don't have to much of the strawberry mousse....make it a small portion..otherwise it will be too heavy.

have a GREAT evening...

oh ya...sprinkle the bed with rose petals too...and make sure your best sheets are clean and on the bed....LOL...the room should have candles and be perfect.

Sounds great.
One or two things you might want to check over.
The champagne would be better as an aperitif and a good red wine to follow with the steak.
If you don't want to be drinking too much you can get a good 1/2 bottle.
Napkins.Linen ones if you can get hold of them.Far better than paper ones.
Dressing for the salad? Optional but can you remember if she takes it?

Dude, it sounds like you got everything wrapped up. Just a few suggestions. Chicken liver tough to make flavorful and not very romantic, Perhaps Oysters?Perhaps make some homade croutons instead of chips. Very simple soak cut rolls or french bread in butter with crushed red pepper and garlic and bake. Also, do not forget a chapagne bucket or chill ahead of time. Best of luck

A small but elegant gift. hehe a small teddy bear awaiting on her seat, put the rose between the candles. Umm, i think you have covered everything. Wait maybe some soft, non vocal music. To play in the background. make sure she likes the kind of food your making, too. But without giving any hints to what you are doing. :)

Aaaaaah thats really sweet hope she appreciates it. Have some nice music in back ground, a valentines card. Chips is not very imaginitive so go for an alternative like saute potatoes or baby new potatoes.

The only possible thing I could even imagine adding would be a loaf of crusty bread and some balsamic and olive oil for dipping. Are you going to make the dressing yourself?

You go! Men who can cook are amazing. Thank God I married one!
