From the symptoms you described this sounds like it could be just a common cold, but if it lasts longer than a week i sugest seing your doctor, buy some cold tablets and rest your voice.

A sore throat after two weeks is a very serious matter. Once told a friend of mine to seek a second opinion after a doctor was treating him for something different. Turns out he did have cancer of the throat. That is about 16 years ago and he is still alive and doing well. Not trying to scare you, just setting you on the right path.

You should see a doctor as soon as possible. It sounds like you have allergies. Try to get in to see an allergist, an MD or DO who specializes in treating allergies. A general practitioner can treat you for allergies, too. During the winter, when our houses are closed up, allergens can concentrate (dust, pet dander, smoke, molds, and dust mites) and make us miserable. He might want to do some blood work to rule out other causes.Good luck.

Yes.Sore throats can be indicative of any one of a whole range of problems and if you feel that this is not merely the normal prelude to a cold but something else/more then do go.
