I have read that just using real butter in moderation is healthier than any of the fake stuff out there. Most of the substitutes have hydrogenated oils in them and that is worse for you than butter itself. But as with anything where too much of it could be fattening or not good for you in large amounts, use it sparingly.

If this helps, butter is actually better for you than any of the substitutes. I know margerine is similar to vinyl, and it's real color is grey before they add yellow coloring.

I don't believe so.
But, think about this....
The chemical composition of margarine and plastic are only different by one atom. Personally, I would rather eat something natural. Just be moderate.
