Thank you for the correction, it is fish genes. Is every product that is sold possible to get organic so no such mistale is made?

It's not fish cells but fish genes. The gene encodes the protein that is produced by the plant(s) descended from the original plant cell that had the fish gene inserted. The only fish that was harmed was the fish that was originally used for sequencing the gene in question. I wouldn't feel guilty if I ate such a tomato but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy such produce because it sends out a message that it's OK to transfer genes from animals to plants, which will encourage future experiments.

I'd be annoyed - I used to be a strict vegetarian... and I wouldn't buy that product again...

I'd also do more research on tomatoes so that the ones I was eating were strictly organic (not government approved organic - which is garbage) - but really organic.

I eat only organic produce because I don't want to eat fish genes in my food.

Why do you think people don't want GM foods? Why do you think that the whole EU refuses to grow or to import GM foods? Why do you think people are increasingly going organic?

Why would you genetically modify a tomato with fish cells?
I guess they would just deal with it.

traces of animal are found in an incredibly wide variety of foods we eat today, honestly, even vegans aren't strict enough to not eat some food some time that has traces of animal meat or fat or whatever. DONT WORRY ABOUT IT
