I have been fighting a severe cold for a little over a week now. I am still very congested in my head and chest. My cough is productive but I am very nauseas. Is this common with a cold? I've never felt nauseas while having a head/chect cold? How do I get rid of this mucus in here? My doc. put me on Z-Pac last week but it's still here. He called in another pack for me today. Is there something else I could be taking to make me feel better?

Yes I have had much congestion the past couple of days and felt like crap. I think the taste in my mouth--drainage is part of it. I brushed my teeth when I felt nausea and that helped. Make sure you have a little food in your stomach when you take your medicine. I have found that those five day medicines do not always work, so you may have to try something else. I agree that you should stay away from milk too, because that causes me to have more congestion. Hot tea helps me feel better as well as taking sudafed for my congestion. Plus Vics Vapor Rub--a must have. I hope you are feeling better soon.

You can have a lot of drainage, which could make you feel nauseous. I usually feel kinda sick to my stomach when I get a cold and am really congested. Give your medicine time, too. The doctor knows what he's doing, and if it still doesn't help alot, ask him about it. Drink hot stuff [tea, hot chocolate], it'll make you feel a little better. Get lots of rest, too.

this is not abnormal but i don't think you have a cold . you may have a virus or other illness but a cold most does not cause nausea
i also suggest you read the papers you should have got about your new med as that might be causing this problem as some meds do that just an idea.
hope you feel better fast .

well stay away from the milk and dairy products....you may need a stronger anti biotic then a z-PAC.....and you need and decongestive cough medicine too. But if i was you go to another Doctor then because this could lead into pneumonia.

Fire your doctor! That stuff will make you stoned off your *** when you get to the next dose and not in a good way. Try finding some kanna if you just need a mood booster.

It could be all the gunk from your lungs and nasal drainage that you're swallowing or the meds you're on (or a combination of the two). Hope you feel better soon.

Sometimes if you swallow any of the gunk from your lungs, then you can get nauseous. I know I have!
